What Lamb & Lion Means To Me
Jack Hollingsworth: I'm not sure I can express with words what Lamb & Lion Ministries has meant to me over the years. I met Dave Reagan just a few weeks after I got saved and we have been friends ever since. But Dave has been so much more than just a friend and Lamb & Lion Ministries has been more like my family than anything else. They have encouraged me and in many ways, mentored me. Sally knew Dave from the beginning of Lamb & Lion in the 80's and when we formed Acts 29 Ministry in 1993 and stepped out in faith, it was Lamb & Lion and Dave who were there. We certainly give God all the praise and glory. Had He not put Dave and Lamb & Lion in our lives, we wouldn't be where we are today. Thank you, Heavenly Father and thank you, Lamb & Lion Ministries! We love you Lamb & Lion family!
Guest Article: "Rapture Made Simple"
"v-16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: v-17 then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. V-18 Wherefore comfort (cheer) one another with these words." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Let me start by saying, in Heaven the Rapture is going to be a big deal. There's a lot of excitement concerning the calling of the Bride of Christ. The triune God and all the angels will be involved.
It will be witnessed by people on the earth. Acts 1:9-11 confirms that this same Jesus, in the same manner will return in the clouds. But this time when He comes, it will be with a shout. But not just any shout, a shout calling the one He is there for.
In John chapter 11, Jesus went to Lazarus' grave in the cemetery and spoke with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" In the same manner will He identify His Bride, call Her by name, when He descends in the clouds. He is not coming for everyone and as He said in John 10, He knows us by name and we know His voice. Maybe He will call corporately, maybe individually (Nathan! Dave! Jack!) — it won't matter at that time. He is coming for us, His Bride, not the rest of the world. He has told us who will go and who He knows by name and who He will return for. Thus, the shout. Jesus is not ashamed of His Bride and He will not "sneak Her away." He'll take Her proudly, publicly!
And the voice of the archangel will be none other than God's mighty General giving the order for the angelic host to escort the Bride. Matthew chapter 18 confirms that you really do have a guardian angel, assigned to you by God and just as the poor man who died and was escorted by the angels to paradise, how much greater an event will be the escort of the Bride of Christ!
Check out the account in Luke 16:20. Gabriel will not be blowing the trumpet. It is not his to blow, and besides, he isn't qualified. The only time I'm aware of angels sounding trumpets will be very destructive in the seven trumpets of Revelation. It says "with the trump (trumpet) of God." That's God's trumpet, not Gabriel's.
I'm telling you, it is going to be a big deal. God, the Father is coming too. Jesus is coming from the clouds. God rides upon the great clouds!
Zechariah 9:14, what a beautiful picture of God with Israel and the Church, and it definitely tells whose trumpet and how God uses the trumpet to shut down any idea of movement or opposition when He shows up. Read in Exodus 18 where the trumpet sounded and everything and everyone was terrified. Well, when Jesus comes for His bride, His Majesty will be with Him and the trumpet announces the presence of God Almighty and nothing will be able to move or interfere. I'm telling you, when Creator God arrives anywhere it is heralded by His trumpet and nothing moves or squeaks without His say so.
"And the dead IN CHRIST will rise first." Paul is qualifying who is eligible to be called. Only those in Christ, the saved, blood bought, born again will respond to the call. Just as in the cemetery, only Lazarus responded because he was called by name. Jesus was not talking to all the people in the cemetery, He was talking to Lazarus. On the day of the calling, snatching up, of the bride and Jesus shouts toward the earth, He will not be talking to everyone, just the bride. Paul goes on to say that those of us who are alive and remain will be caught together in the air. There again, he is identifying those who will go.
There will be billions of people remaining on the earth at that time, but notice he says that only those who are ALIVE and remain. Sadly, for all those who are not saved remain dead in their sins. In His sight they are dead and they will not go when Jesus calls out His Bride.
Like I said, it is going to be a big deal! All of Heaven is excited and will be involved in the calling of the Bride! God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and all the holy Angels are coming to welcome us home to personally greet us and escort us into the glorious promise awaiting. Encourage one another!
