To God Be the Glory

Vic Batista: At the end of the day, as verse 17-18 tells us, the point is that God wants people to recognize who He is, that He has a plan for humanity, and how much He loves us. In Psalm 83:18 it says, "But they will know that you whose name alone is the Lord are the most high over all the earth." Today we find recognizing God is a problem for people, for they don't want to recognize who God is and who Jesus is — Supreme.

Nathan Jones: That is a fantastic point, Vic, because Psalm 83:18 tells us that the purpose of God's victory through Israel is for people to know who the Lord is, that He is the Most High. We also read in Ezekiel 38 & 39 that the end result of God stepping in and defending Israel is that the name of the Lord will be recognized by the whole world. When Jesus returns at the end of the Tribulation and defeats the Antichrist and his armies, the whole world knows that God is God on High. So, each of these victories is not just a victory for Israel, but a victory for God.

Vic Batista: God being glorified is what these victories are all about. I hope people reading these passage today even will recognize that God is the Lord on High.

Nathan Jones: And that is the miracle of Bible prophecy, because it is being fulfilled to the letter. There are 109 distinct prophecies in the Old Testament that foretold the Messiah's First Coming, and all 109 prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. There is no other religion that has prophecy that is fulfilled like the Bible. We are told in 500 verses in the Old Testament and one in every 25 verse in the New Testament that Jesus will be coming back again. If God fulfilled all 100% of His prophecies about the First Coming, how much do you think the percentage would be fulfilled about His Second Coming?

Vic Batista: 100%! Truly the Bible is a trustworthy source. They are many religious books out there and there are other books by other religions like the Koran, but when you read them, they just don't read like the Bible. That is because they are not inspired by the Holy Spirit, right?

Nathan Jones: No, not at all. I read the Koran. It's filled with the ravings of a mad man. Mohammed would go into a cave and experience ecstatic fits. He would roll around frothing at the mouth and screaming things out. He was illiterate and so he couldn't write, so followers would be there watching and they would write down what he'd scream out. When you read the Koran, it goes one minute from sanity to insanity, and it skips around from topic to topic. It's just an insane read.

Likewise, the writings of Joseph Smith are the work of a documented con artist. Many of his claims, such as saying American Indians are descendants of the Jews, have been disproved scientifically.

You can read all these different religious books, but none of them have prophecy that is actually fulfilled. We live in a time when we are seeing many of these prophetic fulfillments coming true, and that means that Jesus Christ is coming soon.

Vic Batista: Amen, I love that! For example, in Matthew 24, Jesus predicted what would happen to the Temple. If He was wrong in that prophecy that would have discredited the entire Bible, right?

Nathan Jones: Right. Jesus said in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 that the Temple would be destroyed, and not one stone would be left upon another. He was very specific about that. Then, in 70 AD, the Romans came. Not only did they destroy the Temple, but because of a fire that was set, the golden items melted. The gold melted into the cracks between the stones. The Romans literally jimmied the stones apart to get at the gold that had melted between the cracks. The soldiers then threw the stones into the Kidron Valley so that not one stone was left upon another, exactly just as Jesus foretold.

Vic Batista: That is amazing! So, not only does that prove to us that the Bible is a trustworthy source, but that God loves us. The Bible says in John 3:16 that, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life." Knowing this, people need to turn to Jesus Christ. Recognize that the Holy Spirit is at work. Rejoice in how much God loves you!

God at Work in Your Life

Vic Batista: Nathan, there are people who may be wrestling with their relationship with God. They have heard about Jesus Christ, but they have not surrendered their life over to Him. How can they begin a relationship with their Creator?

Nathan Jones: I would hope that as they read the Bible and marvel at all the prophecies being fulfilled, that people would realize what exciting times we are living in right now. We are living in a time when we are seeing so many prophecies that Jesus predicted that would lead up to end time prophecies coming true. Israel is a nation again. The prophecies are being fulfilled about how the world would be hostile toward Israel and want them destroyed. We are going to see some prophetic wars coming up that Israel is going to win.

Therefore, we know that the Lord is at His good work. God is not just at works nationally, but He is also at work in each person's life. Jesus gave His own life up, and He died in your place, so that you can be saved. Jesus says that when we give our lives over to Him, when we pray from the heart — "Dear, Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and be my Savior" — Jesus promises to forgive you of your sins and scrub your record clean so that you can finally stand holy and pure before the Father. You will have a new life, and you can trust the promises that God has made that you will live Him forever in Heaven with Him.

Vic Batista: Wherever you are, you can call on the name of the Lord by faith and you will be saved.

As we've talked about these incredible events related to the Psalm 83 War and the Gog & Magog War of Ezekiel 38 & 39, we want you to recognize that the time is running out. We are living in exciting times, but they will soon come to an end. In the meantime, there is hope. The hope for today is Jesus Christ. We pray that you will turn to Him soon.

Nathan Jones: We truly are living in exciting times. And, we are also living in terrible times, but they are also a time of hope when we've put our faith in Jesus Christ.
